MORE AMBULANCES
 PHOTO: ASHLEIGH SIM
As the population grows and increases, so does the elderly in Singapore. Singapore has one of the highest elderly rate in the whole world.Around 2 in 5 people in Singapore, would be around 55 years of age and above.Because of this reason, having more ambulances on the roads are necessary. Especially having emergency ambulances.
There would be more ambulances on the road later in the year.
The SCDF is going to have around 40 vehicles when the private sectors send in some ambulances for public usage. The will show that private ambulances will not only be for the rich but even for the poor. Getting them involved in emergency cases will also mean that in times of need, they will be counted upon in a mass causality occasion.
Chief Medical Officer Colonel (Dr) Tan Eng Hoe said on Wednesday six operators responded to the tender which was called last month and by February, details of who made the cut will be announced.
The SCDF will not be making any specific requirements for the equipment and paramedics the private sectors ambulances have.As they trust that since that the ambulances has been taking care of others, there will be no need for any changes. During this financial crisis, jobs hard to find and the SCDF would not want to sack the paramedics as they have sufficient experience.
Roping in more emergency ambulances will alleviate the stress its current fleet of emergency ambulances , with the growing number of emergency calls over the years, due to the aging population.
Last year has 111,127 emergency calls were made to the SCDF over 9 percent more than 2007, 101, 491 calls received in 2007. Out of the 111 , 127 calls, 79, 012 calls were for medical reasons such as heart attacks and shortage of breath.
Prank calls however continue to plague the 995 hotline. Last year, emergency ambulances had to attend to at least 11 such calls every day, a more than 15 per cent rise from 2007. News adapted from straits times 28 Jan 2009
The real reason why i am posting this article is that i want to create a sense of awarness in the people who come and visit my blog. I want them to know about Singapore and what it is doing to cope with the aging population. And i would like to tell people who visit my blog to not to prank call the 995 hotline as it a very serious offense.

Chinese New Year post
Hey all, this post is to wish all a very happy chinese new year. Hope everyone will get a lot of red packets but must remember it is not the money but the tradition behind it and the effort.
On Monday, i woke up at around 7 because i went to play basketball with my best friend early in the morning. I could barely even wake up until he kept pestering me. i am so happy today because i can finally wear my new year clothes already after a long wait. I bought most of my clothes during christmas and the wait to Chinese New year was like hard to endure.
Went around visiting again in the same order , collect sufficient amount of red packets, actually did not really suspect my red packet money to be so much because of the finical crisis. Shall not mention the amount i have received due to privacy.
Today i went to vivo with my family after visiting a relative at Mt. Faber. Ate some nice yet cheap Hong Kong food, after that we went home because all my other sibilings had to attend school but me. This Chinese New Year is very special for me because most of the travelling i had to sit behind in the boot. Due to a simple reason, when my grandmother tagged along to visit also, there was not enough space.
Do not think so off, the car is not a salon so there is still air it is a SUV so the boot is kind of big enough to actually fit 2 people and i guess i had more space to move then the people sitting at the seats.
Wow pretty long post hahas, i going off already .
HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR THE LUNAR NEW YEAR IS FOR ALL NOT ONLY FOR CHINESE

Fishing
wow! just woke up so tired i woke up at exactly 11.54 a.m. so tired.....Went fishing yesterday night with my brother(James) from around 9 to 12. Left my house at 7.30 p.m.reach Victoria School around 8.30 from there we walked to the Bedok jetty. So exciting i thought to myself. Sigh... we reached the jetty and it was closed till around middle of February because of construction. I was like NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then we walked some more and my brother said to find a rock those kind of rocks that extend out in to the sea.we set up the fishing equipment and a couple joined us. we started to fish and the couple caught a catfish. WOW!! i didn't think could catch a catfish because of the depth we were fishing in. THE cat fish weighed almost 1 KG. Because of that catch we started to get excited and waited for our line to get a bite.
BUT..... we waited... waited... waited... waited...waited... Every time there was no bite the man said that the crabs are eating the bait so the bait keep on getting eaten.we just kept on casting and still no fish-.- so went packed up and left at around 12.
talking about today there is nothing really to talk about. I am so happy that i do not have to attend tuition later.Chinese New Year break. Going to play tennis at night with my father because i have nothing to do, think about this i have maths tuition homework to do byes!!!

WE WON
Another tiring day. My class has won the inter-class Chinese new year decoration this year.I would like to thank all who have helped out in the class decoration and thank you all for your class spirit. I hope and know that this class spirit lives in our hearts. GO 2I! GO 2I!
Talking about school....
Mr Chew ask us to take down all the decoration in the morning then suddenly Mrs Lim say that the decoration judging was not over and must put it back. I was totally shocked who could we even put up everything that we took 2 days to put up in 20 mintues. Then told everyone who was there to go down to canteen and find people to come up and do decoration.
Everyone rushed back and went to look for Mr chew for the materials. We received the materials and everyone start working damn fast.We finished the decoration that took over 2 days to do in around 11 minutes. WOW HUH!!! GREAT JOB GUYS.
After that there was a Chinese New Year concert which has some performances which i did not really like. There was a Chinese Orchestra performance but then the school kept making so much noise i could not even appreciate the music. There was a dance routine, which i felt was out of place because there were old folks there.
After the concert i was deciding to go back to my primary school which is a tradition in schools or to go play soccer. I decide to go with the former because some of my friends were going back. Here is a list of my friends that went back to MBS ( Maha Bodhi school)

Tiring Day
Wow, i am totally like dead from my day now. I just completed my Commonwealth essay which i reluctantly did it (somehow).
This is how my day went....
In the morning i like damn tired, woke up late and did not want to take bus already , was like half asleep. In the end i still managed to catch the 6.10 bus.I overslept and the bus uncle did not even wake me up when i reached the school even though it was the last stop what kind of bus driver is that man!
Went to school the funny thing is, the whole level 3 blackout no electricity at all -.- . Everyone was like "what the" because a lot of people never finish their maths homework. So people came out onto the corridor and started doing homework reading storybooks.
After that was MT-reading, and i got scolded again for no apparent reason. Then English, wow the whole class was like doing maths and Ms Fox did not even notice. After English was maths which Mr lee irritated us by not telling us enough information to solve the TFU project
Later on in the day i shall not mention cause i am so tired and i wish to go to sleep. Back from tennis from 7-9. Come back already, my maid made me finish all the food(a large amount) as usual.Wonder how long more till i grow fat. I'm so happy i can finally ace someone already in tennis but i still lose to Ryan.
Nights guys :D
